{"id":13335,"date":"2020-03-30T10:19:07","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T08:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/colosseo.it\/?p=13335"},"modified":"2020-03-30T10:19:07","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T08:19:07","slug":"nel-mezzo-del-cammin-a-dante-themed-stroll-through-the-parco-archeologico-del-colosseo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/colosseo.it\/en\/2020\/03\/nel-mezzo-del-cammin-a-dante-themed-stroll-through-the-parco-archeologico-del-colosseo\/","title":{"rendered":"Nel mezzo del cammin\u2026 A Dante-themed stroll through the Parco archeologico del Colosseo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In occasion of the first <strong>Danted\u00ec (\u201cDante Day\u201d), 25 March 2020<\/strong> \u2014 a nationwide celebration dedicated to Dante Alighieri, approved by the Cabinet at the proposal of Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism Dario Franceschini \u2014 the <strong>Parco archeologico del Colosseo<\/strong> is taking part in this day dedicated to Dante Alighieri accepting the MIBACT\u2019s suggestion by sharing a <strong>Dante-themed tour of the PArCo<\/strong> with the hashtags <strong>#Danted\u00ec <\/strong>and <strong>#IoleggoDante <\/strong>(<strong>#IreadDante<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Starting at 12:00, we\u2019ll all be called upon to read some Dante and rediscover the Divine Comedy. On our website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parcocolosseo.it\">www.parcocolosseo.it<\/a> <strong>and on our @parcocolosseo Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube accounts<\/strong> viewers can retrace the PArCo\u2019s history through some of Dante\u2019s passages that narrate episodes of Roman history from its origins to the end of the empire.<\/p>\n<p>The Roman Forum, the Palatine and the Imperial Forums all contain tangible and monumental evidence of some of the historical figures to whom Dante gave voice in the canticles of the Divine Comedy, together with the pagan deities worshiped in the temples throughout the central archaeological area. <strong>With the help of Dante\u2019s tercets, viewers will go on a tour to rediscover the stories of Aeneas and the Palladium, the shepherd Cacus, the evolution of power through Caesar, the <em>princeps<\/em> Augustus and Justinian, Trajan\u2019s humility before a widow, up to the essence of faith and the figure of St. Peter, and the many tutelary deities who have always inhabited the Roman pantheon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To guide the public on their online tour, a cast of actors have generously lent their voices to our project, created and curated by <strong>archaeological officials Elisa Cella and Federica Rinaldi<\/strong>.
