The reopening of the Parco archeologico del Colosseo is forging ahead while expanding the selection of cultural experiences on offer: in full respect of visitors\u2019 safety and social distancing<\/strong>, The Moon over the Colosseum<\/strong> is back with a brand new, special<\/strong> edition, and a new version of the Full Experience<\/em> ticket<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Moon over the Colosseum<\/em> \u2014 every Saturday, <\/strong>from 25 July to 19 September 2020 (booking open from Friday the 17th<\/sup> at 9:00 AM).<\/strong><\/p>\n

An all new narration has been added to the previous ones: \u201cOf wizards, necromancers, shepherds and other trades\u201d<\/strong>, an unusual itinerary which, for the first time, will take advantage of the recent rediscovery of the graffiti<\/strong> found in the ambulacrum of the 1st<\/sup> tier, dateable between the late Middle Ages and the 17th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

The itinerary will take visitors through the arena floor<\/strong> and then up to the 2nd<\/sup> tier<\/strong>, a testimony to the uninterrupted life of the monument through time, and will conclude after evening falls with a view over the Piazza del Colosseo<\/strong>, in front of the majestic Arch of Constantine and the solemn Temple of Venus and Roma.<\/p>\n

Full Experience<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 every day starting Saturday, 18 July 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ticketholders will have access to a visit to the arena floor between 10:30 and 14:30<\/strong>, in addition to the Colosseum\u2019s 2nd<\/sup> tier<\/strong> for the permanent exhibition \u201cIl Colosseo si racconta\u201dand the 4 SUPER sites<\/strong> in the Roman Forum\/Palatine area.<\/p>\n

The ticket is valid for 48 hours from the first entry to the PArCo<\/strong>, which visitors can choose to make in the Colosseum or in the Roman Forum\/Palatine area. Between 12:00 and 18:00<\/strong> visitors will have accesso to the SUPER sites: the first floor of the Palatine Museum<\/strong>, where the vivid colors of the marble sculptures and decorations on display will complete a visit to the imperial palaces; from the atrium of the House of Augustus<\/strong> the frescoes in the bedroom and study can still be seen in great detail; the extraordinary cycle of medieval wall paintings decorating Santa Maria Antiqua<\/strong> is once again visible and Domitian\u2019s Ramp<\/strong>, looking out over the forum, has been reopened to visitors.<\/p>\n
