On Tuesday, 28 October 2025, the Rome Police Headquarters ordered the closure of the Colosseum to the public for the International Meeting of Dialogue and Prayer for Peace organised by Sant’Egidio, in the presence of Pope Leo XIV.<\/p>\n
The archaeological area of the Roman Forum – Palatine Hill will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (last admission at 12:00 p.m.).<\/p>\n
Only the following entrances will be open
\n\u2022 Largo della Salara Vecchia
\n\u2022 Roman Forum no. 1
\n\u2022 Mamertine Prison
\n\u2022 Trajan’s Column<\/p>\n
The following entrances will be CLOSED:
\n\u2022 Via di San Gregorio
\n\u2022 Arch of Titus
\n\u2022 Exit from the Basilica of Maxentius<\/p>\n
The Temple of Venus and Rome, the area near the Arch of Titus, and the eastern slopes of the Palatine Hill will not be accessible to the public.<\/p>\n
