From 18 December to 29 March 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new encounter with <strong>Tunisian culture<\/strong> at the Parco archeologico del Colosseo on Tuesday, 17 December 2019 at 11:00: <strong><em>Carthage ou la memoire des pierres<\/em><\/strong>, a photo exhibition by the Greek-Tunisian artist <strong>Marianne Catzaras<\/strong>. Twelve black and white photographs, all taken over the course of the past year in Tunisia, will be on display as part of the exhibition <em>Carthago. The immortal myth<\/em>, until 29 March 2020.<\/p>\n<p>On display in the <strong>Imperial Ramp in the Roman Forum<\/strong>, the exhibition is placed within the section of the show that tells the story of the refoundation of the new <em>Colonia Concordia Iulia Carthago<\/em>, after the destruction that followed the end of the Third Punic War: a monumental city, endowed with entertainment facilities and luxurious private residences, renowned for the richness of its mosaics. Extraordinary works of art like the \u201cLady of Carthage\u201d mosaic could in fact be admired here.<\/p>\n<p>It was here towards the end of the <em>Carthago<\/em> exhibition where some final piece of the puzzle seemed to be missing to properly complete the portrait of this great Mediterranean metropolis: a city which lives on not only in our imagination, but which continues to breathe and communicate even through the immobility of its stones.<\/p>\n<p><em>Carthage ou la memoire des pierres<\/em> therefore springs from a <em>plural identifying<\/em> artist\u2019s desire to express, through images and photographs, the concept of Carthage\u2019s immortality, the profound value of Mediterranean culture, the belief in diversity and the commingling of influences.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new encounter with Tunisian culture at the Parco archeologico del Colosseo on Tuesday, 17 December 2019 at 11:00: Carthage ou la memoire des pierres, a photo exhibition by the Greek-Tunisian artist Marianne Catzaras.
