On Friday 15 March 2024, the Gruppo Storico Romano will celebrate the Ides of March with a historical re-enactment starting at 14.00 hours in the Sacred Area of Largo Argentina, where the meetings of the Senate that set the stage for the conspiracy of the Caesaricides and the assassination of Caesar will be re-enacted.
Afterwards, the funeral procession, organised by the Decima Legio Association, will accompany Caesar’s body to the Temple of Divus Julius in the Roman Forum where, at 4.30 p.m., the traditional ceremony will be held with the famous orations of Brutus and Mark Antony from ‘Julius Caesar’ by William Shakespeare.

The recitation will be performed in English.
