On Wednesday, 19 February 2025, the Curia Iulia will host the lecture The Parthenon Marbles: a timeless beauty given by Professor Nikolaos Stampolidis, Director General of the Acropolis Museum.

The lecture’s subject is addressed to the major issue related to the Parthenon sculptures’ seizure, their dispersion in various European Museums, mainly in England and France, and the efforts being undertaken for their reunification with the Parthenon body within the New Acropolis Museum.
Thus, topics related to the return and reunification of the Parthenon sculptures will be discussed, with particular regard to quality, aesthetics, the pioneering significance of the frieze in relation to the idea of Democracy, and the attempts that have been made, in this direction, in recent years.
