The Colosseum Archaeological Park, in co-organization with the Centre National d’art et de la culture Georges Pompidou of Paris, presents the exhibition “Brancusi: Sculpting Flight,” a selection of works by the Romanian-born, French naturalized artist Constantin Brancusi, considered the father of modern sculpture, exhibited for the first time in Rome.

The exhibition, curated by Alfonsina Russo, Philippe-Alain Michaud, Maria Laura Cavaliere, and Daniele Fortuna, is hosted from February 13 to May 11, 2025, inside the Farnese Bird Cages, a symbolic location in the city rediscovered at the end of the 18th century by the travelers of the Grand Tour.

The exhibition explores one of the main themes in Brancusi’s artistic production: the bestiary of birds. The exhibition path is divided into the two rooms of the Bird Cages, the first dedicated to sculpture, the second to the artist’s photography and films.
