Special openings, events and activities scheduled for European Heritage Days 2020
On Saturday, 26 September, from 15:00 – 18:00, the Palatine Museum takes center stage thanks to the museum’s new tactile guide designed and promoted by the PArCo and created by atipiche edizioni: a workshop for the visually impaired is scheduled to offer a preview of the Palatine Museum’s new tactile guide.
On the evening of the 26th, the Roman Forum is the place to be with the special evening visit, “Political life in Ancient Rome, between the Forum and the Curia”, for the symbolic cost of 1€.
On Sunday, 27 September, the Colosseum’s arena floor is hosting the official celebrations for the 100th birthday of Gianni Rodari, from 10:00 to 12:30 (www.100giannirodari.it): the kids who took part in the “L’uomo che rubava il Colosseo” comics contest between May and June are invited to enjoy the musical stylings of the Gianni Rodari wind quintet, who will be performing some of the celebrated writer’s most well-known fables.
A series of special openings are planned for the entire weekend between Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of September, with PArCo staff accompanying visitors to the Schola Praeconum, house of the heralds of the Circus Maximus (entry through Via dei Cerchi with no ticket necessary), the Horrea Agrippiana and the Severan Complex on the Palatine (visits to these two sites are included in the entry ticket).
And finally, as part of the PArCo’s Salus per Artem project and thanks to an agreement protocol with S. Komen Italia, the PArCo is adhering to Race for the Cure’s new format for the fight against breast cancer: on Saturday 26 September, from 11:00 to 18:00, theoretical-practical integrated therapy (mindfulness) workshops will be open upon reservation.
