From Thursday 1 February work will begin on the repaving of the entrance to the Arch of Titus with the installation of the new gate.

Public access will be guaranteed and exit will temporarily be through the turnstiles of the Basilica of Maxentius.

Access for staff and collaborators will be through the pedestrian gate.

As of 15 January 2024, a construction site was started at the entrance to the Arch of Titus, at the beginning of the Via Sacra, which has led to a reduction in the space that can be travelled.

On the Via Sacra it will not be possible to stand in 2 rows – individuals and groups – as usual, but a single row will be in operation.

Users, especially groups, are invited to use the other entrances to the PArCo:

• Largo della Salara Vecchia
• via del Tulliano
• via di San Gregorio, 30

Moreover, until at least 27 January 2024, the direct passage to the Santa Maria Nova complex and the Temple of Venus and Rome will be interrupted to allow for the completion of restoration work in the area.

It will therefore be necessary to bypass the Arch of Titus
