On Friday 18 April 2025, the Questura di Roma (Rome Police Headquarters) has ordered the closure of the Parco archeologico del Colosseo starting at 2 p.m., with last entry at 1 p.m.

In detail:

• Colosseum: opening of the ordinary route and the arena floor only, last entrance at 1 pm
  Opening at 8.30 am. Closing at 2.00 pm. Last entrance at 1 pm
  Tickets on sale only on site at the Park ticket offices.
• Roman Forum and Palatine: opening of the whole archaeological area including the SUPER sites.
  Opening at 9.00 am. Closing at 14.00. Last admission at 1.00 p.m.
  Forum Pass Super tickets sold only on site at the Park ticket offices.
• Domus Aurea: open until 1.00pm.
  Tickets available online and on site at the ticket office

From Wednesday 9 April to Saturday 19 April 2025 inclusive access to the monuments directly facing the Colosseum square will undergo some changes to allow for the work necessary for the filming of the Stations of the Cross, celebrated on the evening of Friday 18 April.

The following will remain temporarily closed:

• Terme di Elagabalo from Wednesday April 9 to Saturday April 19, 2025 inclusive
• Temple of Venus and Rome from Wednesday April 9 to Saturday April 19, 2025 inclusive

The cell of the Temple of Venus and Rome, facing the Capitol, will remain open. It will be accessed from the Roman Forum Museum located in the Santa Maria Nova complex.

The Way of the Cross will be broadcast by Rai Uno worldwide from 9 p.m. on 18 April.
