Free admission on Sunday 2 June 2026 | ITALIAN REPUBLIC DAY – OPEN FROM 2.15 PM

On TUESDAY 2 JUNE 2026, the Parco archeologico del Colosseo will be open to the public free of charge to mark REPUBLIC DAY, from 2.15 pm until the end of the MILITARY PARADE at 7.15 pm (last admission at 6.15 pm).

The following tour options are available:

  • Route Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine a single visit to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine available at the ticket office in Piazza del Colosseo, located near the Temple of Venus and Rome ONLY
  • Route Forum Pass to visit the Imperial Fora, the Roman Forum and the Palatine in a single visit available at the ticket offices in Largo della Salara Vecchia and at Foro Romano 1 ONLY

During the Free Days the Membership Card and Roma Pass holders will also be able to collect their free tickets at the ticket office, in order of arrival.

Tickets will be valid on TUESDAY 2 JUNE 2026 ONLY

The permanent section of the exhibition event “Giacomo Boni. The dawn of modernity” will be open at the Santa Maria Nova complex.

 

WHAT YOU CAN VISIT:

  • Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine
  • in the Roman Forum Museum at the Santa Maria Nova complex the permanent section of the exhibition event ‘Giacomo Boni. The Dawn of Modernity’

WHAT WILL REMAIN CLOSED:

For safety reasons, and in accordance with visitor capacity restrictions, access to the panoramic lift and the upper levels of the Colosseum will not be permitted, nor will access to the arena, the hypogea, or the Passage of Commodus.
For the same reason, the following sites between the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill will remain closed: the Farnese Aviaries, the Nymphaeum of the Rain, the Temple of Romulus, the Curia Julia, the Horrea Piperataria, and the SUPER sites (House of Augustus, House of Livia, Santa Maria Antiqua, the Hall of Isis with the Mattei Loggia, and the Palatine Museum).

The Domus Aurea is not part of the initiative.

THE DOMUS TIBERIANA WILL BE OPEN AND FULLY ACCESSIBLE. THE EXHIBITION ROOMS WILL REMAIN CLOSED.
